Doctor

Robert L Blaylock , DVM

Dr. Blaylock was born and raised in Dickson, Tennessee. He earned both his B.S. and D.V.M. from UT-Knoxville. As an undergraduate, he marched in the Pride of the Southland Marching Band. In vet school, he represented the school at several national conferences and participated in cancer research.

Following graduation, Dr. Blaylock practiced large and small animal medicine in Paris, Tennessee before moving to Murfreesboro in 1994. He became practice owner of the Animal Care Veterinary Hospital (formerly Jackson Animal Care Clinic) in 1999.

He and his wife Bonnie have two children. In his spare time, Dr. Blaylock is likely to be working on projects with his church, reading, or walking in the woods. Pets include his border collie, Lucy, four cats, Katie, Wilson, Oliver, and Akiva, an aquarium and pond fish.

Kyle Daniel , DVM

Dr. Daniel was born in Columbia, Tennessee and attended high school in Hendersonville. He attended MTSU as and undergraduate and received his D.V.M. from Auburn University.

Following graduation, Dr. Daniel practiced at a small animal cininc in Montgomery, AL until September 1998, when he joined the Animal Care Veterinary Hospital team. In addition to dogs and cats, Dr. Daniel enjoys caring for avian, exotic, and pocket pets. As far as community involvement, Dr. Daniel leads a monthly high school Explorer program in veterinary medicine at the clinic's post. He also enjoys keeping the animals at the communities Discovery Center in tip-top shape.

Dr. Daniel and his wife Stephenie, and they have 3 children. They enjoy living on a small farm with Polled Hereford cattle. Pets include one cat Micha, and Zoie their Papillion.

Dr. Daniel enjoys serving Christ at his church, at work, in the community, and on the board of Special Kids.

Melissa L Payne , DVM

November 30, 1970 - July 16, 2006

Dr. Melissa Payne was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident July 16, 2006. She was an outstanding veterinarian and a cherished friend. Her memory lives on in our hearts!

Dr. Amy B Shirley , DVM

Dr. Shirley joined Animal Care Veterinary Hospital in June 2005. She grew up in Tracy City, Tennessee, on top of Monteagle Mountain, before moving to Murfreesboro where she attended MTSU and earned a degree in Animal Science. Dr. Shirley received her veterinary degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and was happy to return to Murfreesboro to practice medicine.

Dr. Shirley lives with her husband Micheal and son Tristan. The Shirley's are the caretakers for two cats, two dogsm two snakes, two horses, and a few fish. When she is not providing compassionate care for your beloved pet, or curled up on the sofa with her cat Boomer, Dr. Shirley enjoys church activities, hiking, canoeing, and riding her horeses. The Shirley's are also avid supporters of MTSU Blue Raider athletics and the MTSU agricultral department.

Dr. Kerrie M Robinson

Dr. Kerrie Robinson joined the ACVH staff on July 24th, 2006. Dr Robinson was born and raised in Murfreesboro, TN. She attended Riverdale High School, where her mother has taught for over 27 years. She attended Middle Tennessee State University and graduted in May 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. She was then accepted into the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with the class of 2005. After graduation, she returned home to Murfreesboro and began working. She has an interest in small animals as well as exotic pets including birds, reptiles, ferrets,and various other pocket pets. When Dr Robinson is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and playing with her Papillon named Pierre.

Jennifer L Polsgrove , DVM

Dr Polsgrove joined the ACVH team May 2007

Dr. Polsgrove is originally from northeast Ohio where she graduated from the University of Findley with a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Veterinary Medicine in May 1995. She graduated from Ohio State University Veterinary College in 2000.

Dr. Polsgrove practiced small-animal veterinary medicine in Findley for 5 1/2 years before moving south to join her family. She has lived in the Murfreesboro area since January 2006. When not practicing medicine, Dr. Polsgrove enjoys spending time at her parent’s farm riding her horse, Moe. Dr Polsgrove has special interest in Internal Medicine and soft tissue surgery

Management

Mr. Duke W Tidwell

Duke is a native of Nashville who attended Father Ryan High School, Downtown Campus (Go Irish!) and Middle Tennessee State University where he attained his BA in Agribusiness/Business Administration in 1994.

Duke began working for Jackson Animal Care Clinic, then under the ownership and administration of Dr. George Jackson and his charming wife Betty, in the fall of 1990 bringing with him 3 years of experience from a busy 5 doctor practice in Nashville (Mobley Veterinary Clinic) where he worked while attending high school. Over the years Duke has watched and participated in the transformation of Jackson Animal Care Clinic into the amazing Animal Care Veterinary Hospital, Inc. that you see today. “ I am proud of where we came from and excited about our vision of the future. Not only our vision for ACVH, Inc. but for the profession of veterinary medicine in general.”

Duke is currently pursuing his CVPM (Certified Veterinary Practice Manager)

certification. Hobbies and pastimes include buying and selling antiques, gardening, remodeling, karaoke, and traveling. The addition of Apollo, his chocolate Chihuahua puppy, to his household in July 2005 has been a blessing and a life-changing experience!

Mrs. Sharon T Preston , Office Manager

Sharon has been with ACVH since April of 1996. She has been married to her husband Jim for over 25 years. They have 4 children (Cliff, Kurt, Cassie, and Cameron) who have all worked for ACVH at one time or another. Her pets include 2 Weimaraners, Dakota & Yogi, a whippet named Indy, a Cornish Rex, Duncan, and a Himalayan, Pearl. When not at work Sharon enjoys working outside taking care of their small farm or lying on the beach on a hot sunny day.

Ms. Holly Broyles , Veterinary Assistant

Holly joined the team at ACVH in September of 2001. She graduated from Riverdale High School in May 2001. From there she attended MTSU until her recent graduation on August 16th 2006. She graduated with a BS in Biology and a minor in Chemisty. Holly was resently promoted to the Outpatient Assistant Coordinator, where she does a wonderful job organizing the Outpatient zone. Holly also runs the Explorer program with Dr. Daniel, which is the local High school students getting a hands-on experience in the veterinary field. She owns two excellent dogs Sami and Killen. Sami who is a five year old blonde cocker spaniel, and Killen who is a one year old sweet beagle. Holly enjoys teaching both her dogs new tricks. In her spare time Holly loves to read books, work on her house, go to the lake, and relax with friends or family.

Mrs. Wendy Leverette , LVMT

Wendy is a licensed veterinary technician who graduated from Columbia State Community College in May of 1997. She has been with ACVH since May of 2002 and currently serves as inpatient coordinator and nursing manager. She is happily married to husband Jason and has 2 children, 4 dogs, 3 cats, 2 horses, and 2 rats. When she is not at work educating clients or caring for animals, Wendy enjoys spending time with her family and riding horses.

Technician

Mrs. Terri Manning

Terri was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, but has lived most of her life in various parts of Tennessee. She is married to Michael Manning of Lebanon, TN and has 1 daughter, Tobi. Her pets include a dog, 4 cats, several small mammals (hamsters, rats, and mice), a couple of lizards, 5 tree frogs, and many snakes.

Terri has been with Animal Care Veterinary Hopital, Inc since July 1999. She had previously gotten her Operating Room Technician Diploma throught the United States Army. After working in the Operating Room in a human hospital, she decided she would rather work with animals. She became ACVH's head surgery assitant when she was hired. A couple years after working with us, Terri decided she would like to become a licensed veterinary medical technician. She went through the Veterinary Technology Program at Columbia State Comminity College, and graduated with honors in May 2004.

Terri has continued to be ACVH's head surgery technician ofter graduation. She is also very knowledgeable about reptiles, snakes in particular, and has since become one of our reptile specialist.

Lindsay Meyer , LVMT

Lindsay Meyer is a Licensed Veterinary Medical Technician who graduated from Columbia State Community College in May 2004. She joined the ACVH team in September 2004. Lindsay and her husband Jeremay recently purchased their first home in Christiana, TN where they live with their two dogs, Tux the dachshund and Vada the boxer. Their first child Leah was born in April of this year and they couldn't been more thrilled with her cuteness. She is the best baby ever. In her spare time Lindsay enjoys being outdoors, playing fetch w/Vada, and wathing her favorite reality TV shows.

Reception

Ms. Cassie R Preston

Cassie has been with ACVH since graduation from Oakland High School in the Spring of 2002. Cassie is the daughter of our Office Manager, Sharon Preston. Cassie owns a rescue Pomeranian, Hulk Hogan which she adopted Aug 05. The whole five pounds of him is the best thing ever, she never goes anywhere with out him. When not at work Cassie enjoys sleeping late, being out on the boat, shopping for shoes or just hanging out with family and friends.

Ms. Michele Comfort

Michele joined ACVH staff in May 2006. She is about to graduate with a degree in Public Relations and two minors in Marketing and Sociology from MTSU. Michele's hobbies include any outdoor activities or anything that makes her laugh. In her spare time she loves spending time with her dog, Eddie.

Gloria

Gloria says of herself...I live at the hospital in a spacious cage next to the reception desk. I am 2 years old and I LOVE girls (especially Cassie...see picture under reception staff)! I can't speak a lick but I sure can jabber. My favorite food is Harrison's Adult and I also love peanuts. My favorite pass times include doing acrobatic stunts, demolishing paper of any kind, and trying to fly. Come say hello to me sometime!

Kennel

Mrs. Stacy Patterson

Ms. Stacy Patterson was born in Rutherford Co., Tennessee on May 13th, 1975. She was raised in various parts of Tenneessee including the children's home in Spring Hill where her parents were "house parents" to orphaned children. In addition, Stacy has also lived in LaVergne, Smyrna, and Walter Hill.

In 1993 Stacy graduated from Oakland High School in Murfreesboro where she participated in J.R.O.T.C., Drill Team, and Health Occupations. Her current interests include movies, fishing, bowling, horseback riding, and fast cars.

Stacy, a single mom to son Chris, now resides in Rockvale where her son attends Rockvale Elementary. Stacy's love for dogs and cats prompted her to seek a position which would allow her to care for other people's beloved pets as if they were her own. Stacy has been a team member at Animal Care Veterinary Hospital, Inc. since October 8, 2003 and is pictured here with our Practice Manager's dog Apollo.

Mr. Travis Burks

Travis began working for ACVH on March of 2005. He just graduated from Siegel High School in May 2006. In his spare time Travis likes to be outdoors, play sports, and hang out with friends. Travis has been in Boy Scouts since first grade and finally got awarded his eagle Scout rank in Febuary 2006.

Mrs. Robyn McMillan

Robyn joined the ACVH team in June of 2002 bringing with her experience from working at Petland Murfreesboro and from volunteering at the local humane society.

Robyn was born in Charlston, SC and lived there until she graduated from college. After finishing college she married her husband, Michael to whom she has been married for almost 20 years. Together they have 2 teenage sons who attend Riverdale High School, James is a senior and Justin is a Freshman.

Robyn has two dogs, a sheltie namde Phoenix and a Yorkie named Max. She also has 2 cats. One is an orange longhair tabby named Peekaboo and the other is a deaf white shorthaired cat named Chelsea. In additon to these more common pets, Robyn has a bunny named Thumper and a white and yellow cockatoo named Bella.

"Michael's job brought us to Murfreesboro 8 years ago and this is where we hope to remain permanently."

Mr. Kevin Lee

Kevin started in Aug 2004. Keving moved here from Knoxville in 2003 to attend MTSU's recording industry program. He graduated in from MTSU in May 2006, with a Bachlor of science in the recording industry. Kevin has a rescue dachshund mix named Oswald. Kevin was recently married to his long time love Ashley on October 1st 2006.

Keith Lee

Keith began working at ACVH in Aug of 2006 after transfering from Knoxville to go to school at MTSU. He came from a Veterinarys office in Knoxville which he had worked at for four years. Keith is majoring in the recording industry at MTSU just like his Brother Kevin who also works for ACVH. Keith enjoys writing music, playing hackey sack, watching UT football, and going camping. He also greatly misses his two beagles he left back in Knoxville.
